Philemon and Baucis
our great Republican tradition
did not teach me again when you can forgive
Our great faith in the sunsets of reason not
I was able to make better in so many little things
Our great desire to fight until the end
did not steal the darkness close behind our blinds
Our modern version of a middle-class resentment
has not changed shape or color to your rumpled flags
killed by stings and revolution of roses
not much left in our discussions
but not see it as a personal matter that is only
here there
moves and statements and letters never made empty
not much left apart from the lost opportunities
but do not think that sex with pearls and
afraid we can not live
and statements ever read and
blank pages is not much left in our conclusions but do not think that
leak fights and adventures
no one can kill
and revolution betrayed bites rose
not much left apart from the lost opportunities
but not see it as the natural fruit of a banal love
